Take One For The Team

With their debut album, Life Of The Party, Sydney pop punk outfit HEROES FOR HIRE made the jump from the highways of Australia to stereos worldwide. No strangers to hard work, the band have been juggling their love for playing live with their studio commitments, following the path laid by great Australian rock’n’roll acts like The Living End and Grinspoon. All this van time resulted in the group’s assured and confident debut, a record any passing fan of Blink 182, Fall Out Boy and New Found Glory will be instantly enamored of. First single 'Bright Lights In Paradise' snagged the attention of Triple J Unearthed, who awarded the band the only Australian spot on the Sydney leg of the 2010 Soundwave Festival alongside Paramore, Faith No More, AFI and Jimmy Eat World. Constructing their own website to release the 'Bright Lights In Paradise' video, the overwhelming response crashed the boys server under the weight of activity. With this growing buzz, Life Of The Party debuted on the AIR charts at #4, whilst reaching a peak position of #3 in the third week of May. Since the album's release in April 2010, HEROES FOR HIRE have embarked on national tours with Fireworks, Boys Like Girls, House VS Hurricane, Hot Chelle Rae and The Wonder Years, as well as landing slots on the prestigious Come Together festival and taking part in the inaugural No Sleep Til festival across the nation with NOFX and Frenzal Rhomb through to A Day To Remember and Parkway Drive. Even though the HEROES touring schedule would break a lesser band, the quintet still found the time to head to Baltimore, USA (in November/December) to complete their sophomore release Take One For The Team with esteemed producer Paul Leavitt, who had previously worked with All Time Low, Senses Fail and many more! The disc’s first cut 'No Milk Will Ever Be Our Milk' was recently made available as a free download – as well as receiving airplay on Triple J - with the album’s lead single 'All Messed Up' also making an impact on radio. Recently completing a national support run with iconic San Diego pop-punks Unwritten Law, HEROES FOR HIRE will be once again hitting the road for the massive This Is Baty Country tour with Short Stack this July.
