When The Devil Goes Blind
Fantastic new album from the folk blues singer/songwriter/guitarist from Duluth, Minnesota who toured here a last year as a special guest of PAUL KELLY, and whose song '1922' was featured in that Vodaphone TV ad with the guy who folds the contents of his apartment, including his girlfriend, into his phone. Charlie's new album is his best yet, and features the absolutely amazing song 'I Dreamed I Saw Jesse James Last Night' which is the most compelling acoustic blues number I've heard in years. And Aussie's will dig it because it mentions Ned Kelly! Charlie's specialty is old time 'pre-war' acoustic blues. He does it as well as anyone on the planet at the moment, and writes great original material. Fans of everyone from CW STONEKING to CHRIS SMITHER to JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE should check this guy out.
