Two Greedy Italians - Season 2; Still Hungry

In this beautifully filmed food documentary series, the kings of Italian cuisine Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo return to Italy together to remember their own pasts and discover how the culinary capital of the world is changing the way it cooks and eats.The series will be distinctly personal, drawing upon Antonio and Gennaro´s upbringing in Italy through their memories and anecdotes. The series will also reflect their sometimes fractious, often hilarious, fundamentally close relationship.Each programme will explore one theme: Bella Figura – the art of expressing an appreciation of the fine things in life; arrangiarsi – the Italian art of making do, machismo – what it means to eat like a man in Italy and finally bambino in fache – the Italian love of children and how they feed them. The episodes will surprise the viewers and dispel the clichés by revealing how aspects of Italian life are changing. Antonio and Gennaro will uncover a changed Italy in some areas and a fiercely traditional, untouched world in others. In each episode, Carluccio and Contaldo create dishes using recipes, ingredients and influences they discover along their journeys as well as some of their own favourite traditional meals. Much of their time is spent cooking, eating and learning from people they meet on location. For Bella Figura – they travel to Liguria; for arrangiarsi – the Rhaetian Alps in Lombardy; for Machismo – Lazio and capital Rome;for Bambino in Fache, sunny Calabria.In each area we explore both town and country, seeing how every Italian province has a unique culinary palette as influenced by its spectacular geography.
